The police administration will officially react to findings of two institutions that investigated the infamous cocaine-turned-baking-soda saga on Thursday.
The Bureau of National Investigations as well as a four member fact finding committee set up by the Chief Justice indicted the police service for swapping the cocaine.
The service had prior to the two investigations accused officials of the Circuit Court for swapping the cocaine exhibit tendered in evidence in the prosecution of a cocaine suspect, Nana Ama Martin.
But the boss of the Narcotic unit of the Police CID, DSP Kofi Tuadzara in an interview with Joy News dismissed findings of the CJ committee. He was waiting for the BNI report in order to make a final statement.
But that report implicated him as well as Deputy Head of the Commercial Crimes Unit, DSP (Mrs.) Gifty Mawunyegah Tehoda.
The latter has been remanded in prison custody as investigations continue.
Acting Director of Public Affairs DSP Cephas Arthur said the police administration will fully address all issues relating to the swap on Thursday, January 12, 2012.
He said his outfit will also respond to the findings of the two institutions which investigated the matter.
He would not confirm if the administration has received the full report by the BNI except to say the police is “composed” and not under any pressure at all.
