His Excellency the President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills has, in consultation with the Council of State, appointed Mrs. Bridget Katsriku as the Chairperson of the Public Services Commission (PSC).
The appointment takes effect from 1st of March, 2011.
Mrs. Katsriku joined the Ghana Civil Service in September, 1975 and rose through the ranks to become one of the few female Chief Directors in the Civil Service, a position she held from 1999 to 2008 when she retired compulsorily from the Service after serving for 33 years.
In November, 1999, while she was still serving as Chief Director, she was assigned additional responsibility of establishing the Ghana aids Commission, a task she effectively executed with distinction and became the first Chief Executive of the Commission in an acting capacity from June, 2001 to May, 2002.
Until her latest appointment, Mrs. Katsriku was the Vice Chairperson of the Public Services Commission.
His Excellency has also nominated the following persons as District Chief Executives:
• Mr. Emmanuel Kweku Tetteh -Agona West
• Mr. Martin Luther Obeng -Agona East
• Mr. William Atta Mends -Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese
