President John Mahama has sworn in seven High Court judges - five female and two male - to the Court of Appeal.They are Justice Anim Yeboah (Mrs.), Justice Margaret Welbourne (Mrs.), Justice Barbara F. Ackah-Yensu (Mrs.), Justice Cecilia Hanzzy Sowah (Mrs.), Justice Gertrude Torkonoo (Mrs.), Justice Saeed Kwaku Gyan, Justice Issifu Omoro Tanko Amadu.Joy News’ Presidential Affairs correspondent Seth Kwame Boateng who was at the Castle said the president congratulated them and said they have come far because of their dedication to work.He expected them to discharge their duties diligently, and adjudicate cases, such as electoral disputes, swiftly.He promised the commitment of his government to adequately resource the judicial service to do their work efficiently.In a related development, a Court of Appeal judge, His Lordship Yaw Appau was sworn in as the Sole Commissioner.President Mahama described him as a “firm judge with tremendous investigative experience”, adding that Mr Appau is a man of “unquestioned integrity”.“I am completely confident that under his leadership, the commission will produce recommendation to address the judgement debts conundrum,” he hoped, adding “it is a view to address the illness other than the symptoms.”On his part, His Lordship Yaw Appau said: “I want to assure your Excellency that with the needed support and cooperation of all stakeholders, I will live up to your Excellency’s expectation…I will never fail you and my great country Ghana.”
