A Board member of Asante Kotoko, Joseph Yaw Adu, says the issues relating to the reported resignation of Prosper Ogum Narteh as head coach of the club can be solved.
Kotoko’s administrative manager, Emmanuel Dasoberi, confirmed in an interview the plan of Ogum to step down from his role.
However, the club’s 12-member board denied such reports and asked the public to disregard such information.
Yaw Adu, speaking in an interview earlier on Tuesday, added that the coach explained his reasons regarding the decision he has made.
He also said they are waiting to hear the management’s side before taking a decision.
“We invited Nana Yaw Amponsah to the board meeting today but he did not show up,” he told Kumasi-based Kessben FM.
“The coach said he is resigning because of what the management has been doing to him over the last few months, that’s what Ogum told us today in the meeting.
“We are yet to hear from the management, we are waiting to hear from them (management) if what the coach said is true. The issues are resolvable and the coach can stay,” he added.
Having taken their pre-season tour to Dubai before the start of last season, the Porcupine Warriors have confirmed this season’s tour will be in Turkey.
