Ghana’s former President and leader of the 31st December Revolution, Flt Lt. Jerry John Rawlings will be the Guest of Honour and lead speaker at a Public Lecture to mark the 30th anniversary of the Revolution on Wednesday, December 28.
A statement issued by the organizing committee of the celebration said the lecture had been organized by the cadre front at the National Theatre under the theme: “Three Decades Of Grassroot Participation; Its Relevance To The Current Political Dispensation.”
Aside President Rawlings, other speakers include Mr. Paul Victor Obeng, Dr. Mrs. Mary Grant and Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.
The celebrations commenced on December 20 with a medical outreach at Bukom and Nungua. On December 31 there will be the traditional route march from El Wak Stadium through the 37 Military Hospital to the Revolutionary Square opposite the Flagstaff House where there will be a parade and wreath laying ceremony in memory of the Fallen Heroes.
The organizing committee has consequently invited cadres, members of the general public and the media to attend the Wednesday, December 28 lecture as well as the ceremonies on December 31.
The lecture is at 10am.
