The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that Saturday’s heavy rainstorm caused power outages across parts of the country.
In a press statement issued on Saturday, 26 April 2025, the company said the storm disrupted their network, resulting in interruptions to electricity supply for several customers.
“The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform our cherished customers and the general public that the heavy rainstorm that hit parts of the country today, Saturday, 26th April, 2025, has caused some outages within our network,” the statement said.

ECG acknowledged the challenges the outage may have caused and pledged to work swiftly to resolve the issues.
The company further assured customers that their technical teams were actively addressing the situation.
“ECG wishes to assure all affected customers that our engineers are working assiduously to repair the faults and restore power supply,” the statement added, highlighting their commitment to restoring normal service as quickly as possible.
ECG concluded by apologising for the disruption and thanked customers for their patience.
“The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted,” the company stated, promising to keep the public updated on progress as repairs continue.
