Kwame Ofosu Asare, 17, the son of a Ghanaian sports presenter, Dr Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, who was stabbed and killed in London would be buried tomorrow.The deceased, a sixth-form student who died through multiple stab wounds on March 2, was a victim of a spate of knife attacks in Brixton, UK.
The victim who lived in the suburb of Hither Green, died on the way to hospital after he was attacked at the Moorlands Estate, Brixton, at about 17:50 GMT on March 2.
According to the British Metropolitan Police, Kwame was an innocent person at the wrong place at the wrong time.He and his friend had gone to a studio in Brixton to record a track. After the recording, he accompanied his friend who was visiting his relative when they were chased by two young men and got stabbed.
Kwame's friend however escaped unhurt.
In a telephone interview with the Ghana News Agency from London, UK, Dr Ofosu –Asare said the burial service would be held at Brownhill Road Baptist Church followed by his interment at the Grove Park Cemetery, Marvels Lane, London.
Kwame moved to London 10 years ago with his father Dr Ofosu-Asare. He was studying business at Forest Hill School when he met his tragic death.
