Legacy and Legacy Board has officially launched the Springboard 2012 Roadshow.
The event held in the beginning of every year brings influential personalities together for a stimulating discussion on topical corporate issues and career decisions.
The event is to motivate people, especially the youth in their chosen careers.
In an interview with Myjoyonline.com, Mr. Daniel Asiedu, MD/CEO of Zenith Bank Ghana Ltd., and whose company is one of the sponsors said high profile speakers have been featured to engage with the youth and to motivate them to be emotionally stable and socially fit to make difference in their chosen careers.
The 23-day programme which is expected to start on 11 and end on 3, February, this year, is said to run across the country, starting from Ghana’s capital in the south, Accra, through the north and the central regions, and back to the south at Ho in the Volta Region.
The theme for this year's roadshow is "Promoting Excellence through Innovation and Technology," he noted.
Mr. Daniel Asiedu said the youth of today are very dynamic and capturing their attention requires strategic interactive means. “…this is why the bank in collaboration with the Legacy and Legacy board, continue to invest in the best people, technology and environment to underscore our commitment to achieving customer and more importantly, youth enthusiasm,” he added.
According to him the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has predicted that Africa would grab seven of the ten top places in the next five years, adding some research institutions have it that Africa will grow by 7% over this same period which is slightly faster than that of China.
This information alone calls for aggressive and sustainable development strategies to equip the youth, who are indeed the future of the nation, with tools and practical knowledge on technological advancement and innovation grounded on the culture of excellence, he explained.
“If there is a time when we need an informed and capable youth in the nation, it is now,” he said.
