The Multimedia Group Limited (MGL) picked up several key honours at the 29th GJA Media Awards, held at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi under the patronage of the Asantehene and with President John Dramani Mahama in attendance.
The Group walked away with eight awards across various categories for journalism in 2024, covering English and Ghanaian-language programming, station recognition, sports journalism and special topic reporting.

Below are the confirmed winners from MGL:
- Best Reporting in Domestic Tourism – Anas Sabit (JoyNews)
- Student Journalist of the Year – Clinton Yeboah (Luv FM)
- Best Illegal Mining Reporting – Ohemeng Tawiah (Luv FM)
- Sports Journalist of the Year – Muftawu Nabila Abdulai (JoySports)
- Best Radio/TV Programme (Ghanaian Languages, 2024) – Ekɔsiisɛn (Asempa FM)
- Best Radio/TV Programme (English Language, 2024) – The Probe (JoyNews)
- Best Akan TV Station of the Year – Adom TV
- Best Radio Entertainment Programme – “Showbiz A-Z” (Joy FM)
These awards highlight MGL’s reach across English-language, vernacular, TV, radio, investigations and sports journalism.

The ceremony also underscored the media’s role in national issues such as peace, security, and illegal mining, in keeping with the awards’ theme “Safeguarding Ghana’s future: the role of the media in promoting peace, security and the fight against galamsey.”

MGL’s performance at this year’s event reaffirms its position as a leading media organisation in Ghana, with a portfolio of outlets and programmes that span current affairs, entertainment, sports, and investigative journalism.
