Thomas Partey scored his first Champions League goal as he netted in Atletico Madrid’s disappointing 1-1 draw against Qarabag.
The Black Stars midfielder hit a stunning finish in the second half to rescue a point for the Spanish club in a game many expected them to win convincingly.
The visitors looked set to take an easier route to a new slice of history when Spanish midfielder Michel headed them into a 1-0 lead at half-time.
But Partey responded with the equaliser in the 56th minute. French attacker Griezmann flicked the ball into Thomas' path and, from the right edge of the area, the Ghana international curled a stunning effort into the top-right corner.
However, Atletico could not grab the winning goal and are now on the brink of an early exit as they have three points after four games.
Atletico must win their remaining two games against Roma and Chelsea to ensure qualification to the next stage.
Below is Partey's goal
