The Chief Executive Officer of Tigo Ghana, Mr. Carlos Caceres stole the show during a presentation ceremony at the telecoms operator's head office when he drove a taxi from the Boundary Road into the compound of the company.
The taxi belongs to 62-year-old Edmund Boateng who won the grand prize of the Tigo Christmas Bonanza and took home a Mercedes ML plus a cash prize of GH¢150,000.
While Mr. Boateng was having a ceremonial ride in his new car Mr. Caceres also took the keys to the taxi and drove behind the winners in a convoy, calling out “dropping, dropping!” just like taxi drivers do when they need passengers.
Mr. Caceres, wearing a Tigo cap, a striped blue and white T-shirt and jeans, got all the staff of Tigo, guests at the ceremony and prize winners chasing after his taxi and taking pictures of him.
He jokingly told journalists; “I have found a new job.”
Earlier on, Mr. Caceres presented the grand prize to Edmund Boateng who also spotted a traditional kente cloth with his wife standing by his side.
Mr. Boateng told Adom News he was resting at home when he got a call that he had won the grand prize and he drove to the scene where the draw was being held and found out that it was true.
“When I got to the scene, I could not hold back my tears – I was so happy I cried,” he said.
