Tigo Ghana conducted free medical screening for the chiefs and people of Techiman in the Brong-Ahafo region as part of their annual Yam Festival this year.
A statement from the company said over 100 people benefited from the exercise, which was led by Dr. Peter Agyare of the Techiman Holy Family Hospital.
Beneficiaries went through eye, breast and Hepatitis B screening, and most of them were given free medical advice and those with advanced cases were referred to the Techiman Holy Family Hospital.
The team leader, Dr. Peter Agyare entreated the people of Techiman to be mindful of their health, and also cautioned the youth especially against promiscuity.
He advocated for abstinence and condom use during and after this year's Yam Festival.
Dr. Agyare also advised the women who went through the free breast screening to continually check for lumps in their breast and report any abnormalities for prompt action.
Some of the beneficiaries also expressed their satisfaction with the exercise and called on the entire community to take advantage of such activities to know their health status and make informed life-style changes.
They also expressed their gratitude to Tigo for bringing the health screening to their doorstep and giving them this opportunity.
Mr. Amposah of the Techiman Traditional Council also expressed his profound gratitude to Tigo for the screening and for supporting the Yam Festival.
