The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man at the Asankrangwa Education Area.
Kwasi Opong, 34, and William Francis Osei, 23, are currently in police custody assisting with investigations into the incident, which occurred on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
In a statement, Assistant Superintendent of Police Beatrice Turkson, Head of the Public Affairs Unit of the Command, said preliminary investigations indicated that a group, including the two suspects, chased and allegedly stabbed the deceased multiple times.
The attack is believed to have stemmed from a prior misunderstanding between the deceased and Opong.
“Efforts are underway to apprehend the other suspects who are on the run,” the statement added.
It confirmed that the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Asankrangwa Catholic Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
The Command assured the public that all individuals involved in the crime would be brought to justice and urged anyone with relevant information to assist the Asankrangwa Police in its investigation.
