The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has confirmed the arrest of 21-year-old Azumah Sampson, the suspect in the stabbing of a firefighter at Adjiriganor last Friday.
The stabbing occurred while firefighters were battling a fierce blaze that destroyed parts of a two-storey, eight-room building near Ability Square in Adjiringano.
According to a notice from the GNFS, the suspect was apprehended by Fire Officers after days of pursuit following the incident, which left the firefighter severely injured.
The suspect was subsequently handed over to the Ghana Police Service and is currently in custody, assisting with investigations.
