Fisherfolks in Ada Totope in the Dangbe East District are struggling to educate their children as the lagoon, which serves as the community’s source of livelihood dries up.
Harsh weather conditions over the last few months have left portions of the Songhor Lagoon, which runs through Ada Totope, dry up.
The result is that residents are unable to fish from the water body to earn money. This has left parents struggling to educate their children.
Joseph Opoku Gakpo was in the community and reports the residents are also blaming salt manufacturing companies in the area for the problem.
