The Wenchi High Court has dismissed the New Patriotic Party’s case brought against the Electoral Commission over the 2020 parliamentary elections in Sene West.
The court has also fined the party ¢14,000 describing the petition as "irredeemably incompetent."
The court ruling paves the way for the Electoral Commission to declare the results for the parliamentary contest in the Sene West constituency.

Lead lawyers for the NPP were Nana Sekyere Boateng and Obiri Boahen whiles NDC was represented by Kojoga Adawudu and Ofosu Agyare on Thursday.
There was heavy security presence at the court premises as the judge, Justice Frederick Arnold Na-wura, delivered his verdict.

The NPP’s parliamentary candidate, Joseph Markay Kuma had filed the suit after expressing dissatisfaction with what he described as electoral irregularities in the Sene West constituency.
The ruling party requested an injunction on the declaration of the parliamentary results in order to review the outcomes of the elections in the constituency.
The court had earlier awarded a cost of ¢6,000 against the NPP parliamentary candidate for the subsequent withdrawal of their petition for the interlocutory injunction.
