After clinching the DJ of the Year award back to back in 2023 and 2024 at the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards, the question on everyone’s lips is, "can DJ Lord OTB hold on to his throne as the Lord?"
At last year’s ceremony held at the Palms Convention Centre in Accra, DJ Lord OTB didn’t just take home the DJ of the Year trophy; he also won Artiste DJ of the Year for his work alongside King Promise and was named Best DJ Greater Accra.
These wins highlight not only his versatility but also his growing influence in the industry. His latest mixtape, “This is Kweku Smoke”, has been well received, showing he’s not resting on his laurels but pushing forward.
The Fierce Competition
However, the competition remains fierce. DJ Black dominated with an impressive run of wins from 2013 to 2016, setting a high standard for those who followed. Then came DJ Vyrusky, who took the spotlight with multiple victories in 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021, pushing the level of competition even higher. In 2019, DJ Switch made headlines by becoming the youngest ever winner at just 10 years old, adding a remarkable chapter to the awards’ history. Now, with both seasoned veterans and rising stars eager to claim the crown, the 2025 edition of the awards promises to be the most exciting yet.
The Final Showdown
The Guinness Ghana DJ Awards 2025, scheduled for later this year, will be the ultimate test. With a legacy of excellence and a field full of hungry contenders ahead, The fight for Ghana’s top DJ crown is gearing up to be one of the most electrifying showdowns ever. Nominations have not been announced, but DJs are already gearing up to throw their hats in the ring.
For now, DJ Lord OTB’s back to back victories have set a high standard. Whether he remains on the throne as the Lord in 2025 will depend on his ability to keep the energy alive and the dance floors packed.
