Head of Communications at Burniton Music Group, Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng has refuted claims that Stonebwoy's management recently stopped a DJ from playing Shatta Wale's songs at 2025 Accravaganza.
On April 1, 2025, DJ Lord OTB took to his social media handles to recount how a management member of Stonebwoy ordered him to stop playing Shatta Wale's song at the Accravaganza programme when he was on duty as disc jockey.
In the post, he wrote: During my DJ set alongside Merqury Quaye, I included some essential tracks of Shatta Wale into our playlist , an artist whose music forms the backbone of any Ghanaian musical experience. The crowd's energy confirmed we were on the right track until a top Board official of the show intervened. At the behest of Stonebwoy's management, I was instructed to cease playing Shatta Wale's music immediately."
In a recent interview on Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty, Vida dispelled the allegations, asking DJ Lord to apologise.
"What it is now is that we are just tired of all these unfounded allegations, always involving Stonebwoy's brand, trying to smear him. As though every successful story that comes his way has to be smeared with some bad news. We are just tired.
We are giving DJ Lord the opportunity to apologise. And whatever agenda it is, it is up to him and whoever. But that smear campaign against Stonebwoy, and we are not going to take it any longer because, if you know where the brand is headed, we don't want to be meddling in trivialities of this nature,” she noted.
She emphasised that Stonebwoy's brand is focused on promoting its agenda to the world, and will not be distracted by any allegations.
"And it will amaze you how deep or how far this conversation has ended and people, throwing tantrums, insults everywhere. We are a very focused brand, focused on excellence, focused on pushing the agenda to the world. So we are just tired of all this smear campaign,” she said.
Vida noted that every time there is something positive to celebrate about Stonebwoy, someone comes up with negative stories to smear his brand.
In the meantime, DJ Lord has revealed that no member of Stonebwoy's team approached him to stop playing Shatta Wale's song; he said it was rather a message that was relayed to him by a Guinness Ghana official.
Vida, has therefore, dared DJ Lord to reveal the name of the person who instructed him to make the allegations against Stonebwoy.
"So, Lord, whoever gave you that instruction, I have dared you already to put out the name after that, apologize duly to the Brightstone Boy because you know deep down that no,” she mentioned.
In conclusion, Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng has made it clear that Stonebwoy's camp will no longer tolerate unfounded allegations and smear campaigns against their brand.
