An Accra Fast Track High Court will today hear the Attorney-General’s allegations of bias against the trial judge on the Ya Na murder case.
State prosecutors have objected to Judge Anthony Oppong’s continued trial of the case saying they cannot trust the judge to be impartial in the matter.
Deputy Attorney General Ebo Barton-Oduro earlier told Joy FM the state wants the judge replaced because they have evidence to prove that Judge Oppong has made biased comments about the case.
However, one of the lawyers for the accused persons, Atta Akyea, tells Joy News the defense team is yet be served with a copy.
“So far we’ve not received any motion and we don’t know why under the order of the court the Attorney General has not filed the motion on notice…we are not sure why no process has been served on us,” he said.
