Black Stars midfield dynamo Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has passionately called on Ghanaians to support the team in their prayers even after Ghana defeated Mali in the ongoing AFCON 2013.The Black Stars went into the game under massive pressure to pick the needed points and secure a good standing in the tournament.
The Malians came into the game with a determined mindset, offering Ghana a tough challenge as they sought to pick the crucial four points ahead of Ghana. The Black Stars, however, registered their supremacy by beating Mali 1-0, besting their opponents through a calculated tactics.
While the Malian defense allowed no goals, they rather committed a foul in the penalty box which led to their downfall as the Ghanaian side sunk the penalty kick.
Ghana came into the tournament following a massive overhaul that hit the National team at the behest of Head Coach Kwesi Appiah, meaning that a group stage ousting could very well spell doom for the coach and his technical bench.Tensions in the Ghanaian camp have calmed after this win for the team, but Badu says the Black Stars’ battle has just begun and that Ghanaians must play their part to help the team to progress.Ghana will play Niger in the last group game, where a win would see the Stars remain in Port Elisabeth for the quarterfinals.
