Defending Champions Zambia have shockingly crushed out in the first round of the ongoing Nations Cup tournament.
A listless goalless drawn game in the final Group C match against Burkina Faso means Zambia are out together with Ethiopia who lost 0-2 to West African giants Burkina Faso.
After drawing their opening group games against Ethiopia and Nigeria, Zambia needed a win badly to book a quarter final place and to defend the trophy they won 12 months ago but a steely, determined performance by Burkina Faso meant the Chipolopolo will play no further role in the competition.
Burkina Faso topped Group C with 5 points followed by Nigeria with the same points but with inferior goal aggregate.
