Cote d'Ivoire and Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote has had his car seized by police after being arrested on suspicion of fraud. The Magpies playmaker was stopped near the club's training ground on Tuesday and placed under custody by local police on suspicion of fraud in relation to driving offences. Tiote has since seen his £75,000 Chevrolet Camaro seized by Northumbria Police, with inquiries still ongoing. A police spokesman said: "At about 1.30pm on February 12, a car was stopped on Benton Park Road, Newcastle, and a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of fraud in relation to driving offences." Tiote has only just returned to England from Ivory Coast's failed Africa Cup of Nations bid, with the pre-tournament favourites having been dumped out at the quarter-final stages in South Africa.
