Former world best footballer George Weah has lost the mother Anna Weah, after a short illness at the age 64.
A Personal Assistant to the former Africa and World legend Kofi Poku,has confirmed the story and gave details on the unfortunate incident and plans the family will undertake in coming days for the funeral rites.
“ She died yesterday at about 2:15 am , the body will be deposited at the mortuary for the autopsy and other processes. We will keep her body here for a while and wait for George to return as he is in the United States currently.I
definitely think, she will be sent to Liberia for the burial and this will solely depend on King George,"he said.
The 46 year old humanitarian and politician, spent 14 years of his professional football career playing for clubs in France, Italy, and England, and won trophies in each of these three countries. In 1995, he was named FIFA World Player of the Year, European Footballer of the Year, and African Footballer of the Year.
