Klagoon Police has arrested two people in connection with the near fatal attack of a pastor and his followers in a church at Lashibi, an Accra suburb.
The suspects, Blasse Akwete and Cephas Bortey Blasse, were arrested on Wednesday, December 26 and have been charged with conspiracy to commit crimes and causing unlawful damages and harm.
On November 28, the suspected land guards allegedly invaded the Agape Restoration Ministries at Lashibi with machetes and assaulted the head pastor, Prophet Ebenezer Lovelace Ebenezer Arthur along with some church members.
The suspects and their gangs vandalized the church and inflicted cutlass wounds on the church members who had to flee for their lives.
The injured pastor and the wounded church members were admitted at the Dampong Hospital on the Spintex Road for medical treatment.
The Commander of Klagon DSP K. Dogbe confirmed the arrest and indicated that investigations are ongoing.
According to the police, Daniel Alabi, the leader of the land guards, has also been arrested and arraigned before court for assault.
The violence by the group, which was captured on video, has Alabi leading the gang onto the church premises wielding machetes, stones and clubs.
