The head pastor of the Osu Restoration Temple of the ICGC says 2019 will be a successful year but only for those with a determined heart and a staying power in the midst of the storm.
Rev Ashford Tawiah Smith insists persistence will be the key to unlocking the great many blessings in the new year.
He said even though there shall be naysayers who will mock the righteous in the storm, in the end, they, like the sons of the prophet, will join the victory celebration of the righteous who are focused and determined to make it in 2019.
The man of God was speaking to his congregation who thronged the church in their numbers in an all-white outfit during the 2018 Crossover watch night service.
It was an awesome night of praise and worship to God for his limitless blessings unto his children.
While 2018 was a difficult year with some job losses in the banking sector, difficult economic situations for many, there were also a great many successes and breakthroughs for others.
When the time for testimonies came, God was praised for his faithfulness. Many were the afflictions of the saints but God delivered them out of them all.
The Inspire Heaven, the Choreography group in the church teased out the storms of 2018 and God’s faithfulness in a short but captivating piece which touched the hearts of many.
With powerful prayers and great songs of praise and worship to God, the hearts of the congregation were prepared for the unadulterated word of God.
Picking his message from 2 Kings 1-16, Rev Tawiah Smith reenacted the story of the persistence of Elisha who desired a double portion of the powers of his master, Elijah.
“Elisha persisted. He had a staying power. When you know what you are about, you don’t give up,” Rev Smith said.
“2019 will not be easy for lukewarm Christians, who will attend church once in two months. Be determined and have a staying power. That is the only way you will receive your breakthrough,” he added.
Like Elisha, the practical, witty, giant looking pastor charged Christians to go to God not for the vain things of life but rather for the most valuable, enduring treasures like wisdom which Christians need to make wealth and be successful in all their endeavours in 2019.
With 2019 declared as the year of wisdom for members of the ICGC, Rev Smith said in all things Christians should seek wisdom for that will be the key to unlocking many blessings.
The church was thrown into a powerful prayer session with just 10 minutes to enter the New Year. Some of the congregation members went before the pulpit casting their crowns, bowing their hearts in prayers for God’s intervention in 2019.
On the stroke of midnight, the trumpets blasted with glory with the auditorium converted from prayer mode to that of celebration.
“We thank you God for making us see 2019,” was on the lips of many church members as they went round hugging, shaking hands to friends, families and loved ones.
