Professor Stephen Adei, former Rector of Ghana Institute of Management and Public Adminstration (GIMPA) will Wednesday evening address the inaugural lecture by CeDI-Africa, a policy think-tank.
The ‘Ghanaman’ Lecture comes off at the Auditorium of the British Council Hall, Accra. It is on the theme; “56 years on: Is the Ghanaian really capable of managing his/her own affairs?”
The theme is premised on Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s famous declaration “…the black man is capable of managing his own affairs” at the dawn of our independence.
CeDI-Africa said, 56 years on, Ghana sleeps in darkness, all public services are failing, citizens still die of malaria, women still lose their lives through childbirth contrary to God’s plans, water is rationed to Ghanaians, and poverty is driving many out of life.
The ‘Ghanaman’ Lecture has been instituted by the think-tank to provide a unique platform for provoking non-partisan discourse on national issues as well as regional and even global issues that bear significance to Ghana and her citizens.
The lectures is open to the general public with particular emphasis on the media, civil society organisations, political party leaders, heads of MDAs, private sector players, and diplomatic corps.
The Lectures are planned to be held annually within the period of March-May
