The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party Mr. Frederick Fredua Antoh has vowed to lead a massive demonstration against the police following an armed robbery attack which killed his nephew, Sunday.
Prince Opoku Antoh, 30, was gunned down at a popular drinking bar called the Dark City Pub in Kumasi.
He was shot in the head at close range by armed robbers after he refused to hand over his phone and other valuables.
The incident has sent Fredua Antoh fuming and vowing to lead a massive demonstration against what he claims to be the state of insecurity in the country.
He told Luv FM’s Erastus Asare Donkor “there is serious sense of insecurity” in Kumasi.
He does not understand how within a period of three days, two people will be shot dead in broad light when the police Buffalo Unit, The Regional Police Command will be on duty and still be paid with the tax payers money.
He said the IGP must sit up and stem the tide of killings in the region.
Meanwhile the Regional Police Command has put a 2,000 Ghana Cedi ransom on the heads of the killers.
A press release issued by the Regional Police Command and signed by its Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Tanko said anybody with information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators of the crime including the shooting at Ashtown will be rewarded with the amount.
The statement confirms, it was a robbery attack and stating that there were only two customers at the Pub, the deceased and another at the time of the incident.
