Joynews has learnt that two prospective adoptive parents have made an approach for the Cape Coast conjoined twins after the mother refused to accept her.
The 16-year old mother of the conjoined twins was traumatized after she was told her baby’s deformity and only mustered courage to see them for the first time after one week.
Her family has also rejected the babies. The 19-year old father has also not been seen.
But there appear to be some good news for the children as adoptive parents makes approach for the babies.
Central Regional correspondent Richard Kwadwo Nyarko said one of the prospective parent is in Accra and the other from South Africa.
They would be meeting the Regional Social Welfare Department to formalize which of the two couples would adopt the baby.
The mother of the conjoined twins expressed delight at the news. She said there was no way she could raise the child amidst strong public ridicule.
