Nigerian gospel musician, Prospa Ochimana, known for his hit track ‘Ekueme’ has confirmed Sonnie Badu was instrumental to his success.
Few months ago, Sonnie Badu, encouraging pastors to support their congregants who are musicians in a live Facebook session, mentioned how he met and prophesied over Prospa Ochimana.
According to Sonnie Badu, Prospa brought his demo CD to him during a conference in Nigeria and asked for his blessings.
Prospa Ochimana confirmed his encounter with the Ghanaian gospel musician who is based in the UK, in a conversation on The Gist with MzGee after his performance at ‘The Move Concert’ organised by his compatriot, Preye Odede.
“I think he came to Nigeria for an event. I met him and of course he is someone I have always admired and wanted to really meet. Then I gave him a promo CD I had. He was in a hurry, I think he said a word...Lord, give a song that the World will sing and all that and that was it”.
“There are a lot of prophecies that came but I can really pick Sonnie Badu’s. He has really been a blessing to me. I’m so glad to mention him as part of my success story,” he said
Prospa’s ‘Ekueme’ which is a fusion of English and Igbo, has enjoyed airplay in Ghana and the singer seems humbled by the occurrence.
“It so amazing, it calls for so much humility. I’m so much amazed actually”.
