The National Chairman of the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Alhaji Abdul Rahman Issaka, has said a DFP government would go beyond the regular responsibility of providing infrastructure and social amenities for the people.
He said a DFP government would provide accommodation, adequate and accessible health facilities, sufficient employment opportunities and equal educational facilities for the Ghanaian youth to realise their ambitions and contribute their quota to national development.
Alhaji Issaka was speaking after the inauguration of the party's East Ayawaso Constituency executive in Accra on Saturday.
The executives were Nana Okuntey Gyasi, Chairman; Mr Bawa Nantom, Organiser; Mr Gamey Stephen, Secretary and Mr Godson Senanu, Secretary.
Alhaji Issaka was not happy that governments over the years had claimed credit for undertaking projects which were funded through the taxes of the citizens.
He stated that the provision of such projects were the basic responsibility of governments and that what the electorate must demand from their government must go beyond these things.
He said the DFP would provide safety nets for the vulnerable in the society, especially the sick, mentally ill, children and the homeless.
Alhaji Issaka expressed worry that the only secondary school in the constituency, West Africa Secondary School, was removed from the area to Madina by the PNDC administration.
This, according to him had made it difficult for qualified students who could not afford transportation to other schools far away from the area to miss secondary education.
