Awulae Attibrukusu III, President of the Western Regional House of Chiefs on Monday appealed to the judiciary to expedite action on the establishment of a Circuit Court in Lower Axim, to enhance smooth administration of justice.
Awulae Attibrukusu made the appeal when he led a delegation from the Western Regional House of Chiefs to call on the Chief Justice, Mrs Georgina Theodora Wood to congratulate her on her assumption of office and to remind
her of her predecessor's promise to establish a circuit court in Axim.
The President of the House of Chiefs said Axim had attained a municipal status hence the need to put up circuit court in the area.
Awulae Attibrukusu, who is also the Omanhen of Lower Axim, said the area was ready to provide accommodation for the judge as well as offer a place to house the courtroom.
According to him the area has only one magistrate court, hence the need
to get another circuit court to help in the dispensation of justice.
Mrs Justice Wood said the judiciary would provide the area with the court as promised.
