It has emerged that the 1,900 Kg of cocaine in 67 packages which was carted from the fifth floor of the Police Headquarters without notice, has a street value of about 4,400,000 Ghana cedis.
The street value of a kilogram of cocaine is $23,000.
The cash value of the missing cocaine is even bigger than the $3 million President Kufuor was hustling to raise from the Emir of Kuwait to help renovate the Peduase Lodge, according to The Enquirer. With the above cocaine still missing, the police officers who masterminded the biggest theft of cocaine at the Police Headquarters will be laughing all the way to the bank, whilst the nation is suffering reputation damage even from Ghana's most closest allies such as the Unites States of America and the United Kingdom .
The Enquirer said with such dangerous police officers still in the system and with the head of the Police Administration still at post, no amount of modern Exhibit room being built by the US government can prevent it’s re-occurrence no matter how noble this gesture.
