A government delegation comprising officials of the Volta River Authority and the Electricity Company of Ghana is due in the Ivory Coast on Monday to negotiate the release of 100 megawatts of electricity to Ghana.
Ghana has been receiving between 30-50 megawatts of electricity from the Ivory Coast, which government hopes will increase to 100 after the deal.
The Ivorian deal and another 100 megawatts expected from Nigeria will augment electricity supply to the country to ensure regular supply during the highlights of Ghana’s Golden Jubilee celebrations.
