Ghana Connect on Joy FM Friday hosted renowned football analysts Christopher Opoku, Coach Nana Agyeman, Elija Atta-Aidoo and GFA spokesperson, Ibrahim Sani Daara to find answers critical questions in the aftermath of the sacking of Black Stars Coach Kwesi Appiah.
Ghana is once again searching for a new coach for the Black Stars after the Ghana Football Association this week sacked coach Kwesi Appiah for supervising the team’s shambolic performance at the World Cup.
This week the coach mounted a strong defense of his record. He says he cannot be blamed for the team’s poor showing in Brazil.
Well, that defense made little difference. He has received his dismissal letter.
As today marks the deadline for receipt of applications from prospective coaches seeking to replace Appiah, Ghana Connect on Joy FM asks these questions: Did he deserve the sack?
How much blame should the FA itself take? Who will do a better job and serve the best interest of the senior national team? A local coach? A foreign coach?
