Oheneba Ntim Barimah, founder and director of Soul Health and Wellness Centre (Oheneba Centre) has donated items worth thousands of Ghana Cedis to the Weija Leprosarium in Accra.
The items included boxes of key soap, cartons of milk, bags of rice, loaves of bread, fruits, clothing and toiletries.
Dubbed: “Help the Needy”, the gesture was part of his centre’s yearly activities to support the less privileged in society.
Individuals who accompanied Oheneba Barimah also shared GH¢100 each to the 27 inmates of the leprosarium. The staff of the home were also given GH¢500 each with clothes and other items.
Presenting the items, Oheneba Barimah bemoaned the ills of social stigmatization against the inmates of the leprosarium and praised Father Campbell and his team of caretakers for their devotion and love in spite of the challenges at the home.
He also thanked Apostle Kwadwo Safo for his preparedness to help the needy in society.
Caretaker of the leprosarium, Emmanuel Quansah expressed gratitude to Oheneba and the other donors for their support and assured the items would be used for the intended purpose.
Lawyer Akua Safo, who represented the Christo Asafo church called on individuals and other benevolent organizations to show love towards the needy because, to her, “love is all about sharing and caring.”
