The Ashanti Regional Officer of the National Population Council is blaming the country’s development planners for the emergence of slums in urban areas.
Florence Hagan said the planners are responsible for the congestion of the cities and the insanitary conditions therein
She was speaking to Luv News at a seminar for planning officers of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in the Ashanti Region.
The programme dubbed, “Integration of Population Variables into Development Planning Process” provided training for the planners on how to use population data in their development agenda.
