Founder of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Pastor Mensa Otabil has encouraged people to find hope in the resurrection of Jesus Christ during the coronavirus pandemic which has plagued the world.
During a live streaming of the service, he acknowledged that the presence of coronavirus in most nations across the world has brought uncertainty, but explained that there is a hope that can be found in the midst of the uncertainty.
“This life is not all that we have and this life has not ended for us. There is life beyond this existence,” he said.
“For those in Christ, there is a day of resurrection coming when the dead in Christ shall be reunited with the resurrected Lord; and that is our hope,” he added.
He further explained that hope can be found in the belief that when Christians die and resurrect, their old bodies which lived in a corrupted world will not know deterioration or ageing.
Referencing Bible scripture, 1 Corinthians 15:42-44; he said, “ When a Christian dies and they are buried, their body has been sown and the Bible says that, that body will be raised up incorruptible.”
According to him, while people all over the world wait for the passing of the coronavirus, believers should find hope in the new life that will come after the resurrection; the new life which will be lived out in heaven gloriously.
