During President Nana Akufo-Addo’s fifth Covid-19 update to the nation, he announced a free water policy for all Ghanaians for the months of April, May and June.
The policy is part of the government’s interventions to help stop the spread of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
Health experts have recommended the washing of hands with soap and under running water for at least 20 seconds as a way of containing the spread of the virus and this requires access to uninterrupted water supply, hence the President’s directive on April 5.
Ghanaians without taps in their homes will get water delivered to them while those with taps will have their bills absorbed by the government.
On Monday, Sanitation and Water Resources Minister, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, inspected the free water supply exercise in communities at Chorkor and Mamprobi all in the Greater Accra Region.
Below are random shots of the Minister and his entourage inspecting the implementation of the policy.
