Parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Dr Grace Ayensu-Danquah has donated medical equipment to the community of Kansarowdo.
The move which was hailed by the queen mother of the area in the Essikado-Ketan constituency is geared towards improving healthcare delivery in its health facilities.
An earlier set of equipment including wheelchairs and hospital beds provided by the candidate has been described by some media reports as unfit for purpose.
Debunking the assertions in an interview on Connect FM, the queen mother indicated that the intervention was timely, as numerous requests to the member of Parliament for Ghana Health Service Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound have proved futile.
She said the items presented by Dr Ayensu-Danquah have augmented the healthcare challenges that confront the community while building the CHPS compound which was facilitated by the people.
According to her, the NDC parliamentary candidate "gave us GHC10,000 to renovate the CHPS compound and we are done. She also donated medical equipment so I'm sure by the end of the month, we would have a CHPS compound."
