Popular Kumawood actor, Andrew Ntul Mensah, has been shot by armed robbers in his home at Aburaso New Site in Kumasi in the Ashanti region.
The actor was shot in his ribs and thigh in the early hours of Thursday.
This came after he struggled with the gun-wielding men who had gained access to his home.
Officers from the Suntreso District Police Command rushed to the scene following a distress call.
They found the actor, popularly known as Scorpion, in a pool of blood at his residence.
They also found three empty shells of 9mm cartridges and a face mask at the scene of the crime.
According to the victim's brother, he sustained severe injuries because the robbers used a sharp object to hit his left ribs.
Scorpion was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the perpetrators headed straight for the victim’s door when they gained access to the house.
Investigations are still ongoing.
