His first name is Lucky but he did not need any luck to win the 2020 edition of the Gold Fields/PGA championship. Lucky Annan Ayisah emerged champion by dint of hard work.
The Achimota golf club member was too good for main contender Kojo Barnni. He topped the leader board on Day One and never looked back.
Ayisah overturned the game on hole 15 as he pulled a score of five under over four days to win the biggest golf tournament in Ghana.
The 38-year old Ghanaian golfer, who turned professional in 2007, was elated after securing his first silverware.
“This is a very big thing for me because I’ve worked hard for this victory. I’ve chased this trophy for six good years,” he told Joy Sports.

Annan Ayisah took home a 40,000 Ghana Cedis cash prize while winner of the seniors’ event Victor Brave Mensah was given a cheque of 9,000 Ghana Cedis. The total cash prize was 167,000 Ghana Cedis.
