Asanteman SHS has stormed into the 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) One-Eighth Stage in style, sweeping three major awards in a commanding display at the Main Auditorium.

The school secured the NSMQ Star Award, Clean Sheet Award and Pepsodent Highest Scorer of the Day Award, capping a memorable outing against Senya SHS and Awe SHTS.

While Asanteman SHS celebrated a clean sweep of the day’s honours and a place in the next stage, it was another painful chapter for Senya SHS, whose second attempt to reach the One-Eighth Stage ended in disappointment.

Senya SHS started strongly, matching Asanteman SHS point-for-point in the opening round, but gradually fell behind as the contest progressed.

Asanteman’s dominance was particularly evident in the Speed Race, where the school delivered a perfect 10 out of 10 to secure the NSMQ Star Award.

The Riddle Round also produced moments of excitement, with Asanteman answering the first and third riddles, while Awe SHTS claimed the second.

By the end of the contest, Asanteman had secured the victory and the coveted One-Eighth Stage ticket, while Senya’s latest attempt to make the breakthrough ended at the preliminary stage.

Three awards. One One-Eighth ticket. Asanteman came, conquered and collected.
