The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) says erectile dysfunction in males forms part of many health complications faced by persons who have made full recovery from Covid-19.
This information, according to Vice President of the Association, Dr Frank Serebour stems from several complaints reaching health experts by persons who had once contracted the virus.
“Some studies suggest some men who have fully recovered from the virus infection are not experiencing penis erection for sexual pleasure,” he stated.
Dr Serebour, speaking in an interview noted that the aftermaths of the coronavirus have proven to be dire and alarming, hence the need for Ghanaians to adhere to the laid out safety protocols.
“These are things we have to let the general public know and understand the need to adhere to all the COVID-19 safety protocols including hand washing, wearing of face mask and strict adherence to physical social distancing,” he added.
His plight comes after a surge in Covid-19 cases recorded in all 16 regions of the country.
According to the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Ghana stands at 3,613 active cases, 646 new cases and 372 reported deaths.
Meanwhile, Director of the Ghana Health Service in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Emmanuel Tenkorang has refused to make any statement on the report by the Ghana Medical Association.
He, however, disclosed that the Ghana Health Service will undertake extensive research to analyse its data and come out with findings on the said matter.
