The Center for Grassroots enterprise (CGE) of the Street Children Empowerment Foundation (SCEF) has organised a workshop for parents of street-connected children on Grassroots Enterprise management.
The workshop, which was on the theme ‘’Grassroots Enterprise: managing your grassroots enterprise and presenting your business for external support” was supported by the Ghana Social Workers Union, UK.
The Executive Director of SCEF, Paul Semeh in his opening remarks, highlighted the importance of the workshop and urged parents to actively take part as that could be a turning point in their lives and businesses.
“Boosting your businesses and making you self-reliant is the ultimate goal of our CGE. It is our hope here at SCEF that, these trainings will give you the needed skills to become financially sustainable so you can take care of your children. I will urge you all to take an active part in this workshop as this will help revive your businesses”
Mr Semeh emphasised on the continuous commitment of SCEF to helping the businesses of street-connected families.
He, therefore, called on other organisations and individuals to partner SCEF in this mission especially as businesses make efforts to build back better from COVID-19
The facilitator of the workshop, Roderick Ayeh, encouraged parents to operate their businesses under the guidance of a business plan to enable them to stay focus and drive the growth of the businesses.
He further called on the parents not to shy away from seeking external support to boost their businesses.
The participants at the workshop expressed their profound gratitude to SCEF and CGE for their efforts towards improving the wellbeing of parents of street-connected children and pledged to put the knowledge acquired into practice in order to be responsible and self-reliant.
“I am much grateful to be part of this workshop. This is not my first time of attending their training. I have really learnt the better ways of managing my small business and I hope to turn it around with this. I’m looking forward to attending more educative workshops”, said Rita Darko.
CGE is a center at SCEF that is dedicated to empowering street-connected persons to be self-reliant through sustainable economic and business development training and opportunities.
