The Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin suspended sitting over the absence of NDC MPs in the chamber on Friday.
Majority leader Osei Kyei Mensah at the start of the business on Friday raised concerns that neither himself nor the Speaker had received any official communication regarding their absence.
He further revealed that, attempts have been made to contact them on phone but none of them could be reached.
Mr Kyei Mensah then asked the Speaker for guidance on whether to proceed with the business of the day in spite of the NDC MPs' absence.
Shortly after, Deputy minority whip Ibrahim Ahmed entered the chamber. He informed the house that the NDC caucus was in a meeting - the reason for their absence.
He also apologised on behalf of his colleagues for delaying the proceedings.
He, however, argued that the meeting was scheduled at 2 pm since parliament advertised 11 am as the starting time for today's business.
According to him, since the house delayed the sitting, they resolved to proceed with their meeting.
Speaker Alban Bagbin after listening to his explanation suspended sitting for 15 minutes to allow the NDC MPs finish with their meeting.
