Ecobank Ghana Limited says it is set to extend financial support with relatively low interest rates to women in the agricultural sector.
The bank is ready to register these women across the country on it digital platform to boost their operations.
This was disclosed by the Acting Head of the Women's Desk of the bank, Dr. Lorette Sarpong at a one-day agricultural production fair organized by Agrihouse Foundation at Dzorwulu in Accra.
According to Dr. Sarpong, the digital platform will expose these women to a lot of opportunities including an expanded market.
Dr. Loretta Sarpong said the partnership with the Agrihouse Foundation will go a long way to impact members of the foundation.
Dubbed, 'Agri Woman Market Place', the event formed part of the Foundation’s vigorous advocacy program to create market opportunities and solicit support for women in the agric sector.
The event, held at the forecourt of the Foundation's premises at Dzorwulu on Friday, strategically brought together women farmers and agribusiness players.
It also offered an opportunity to the residents in the locality to purchase fresh food stuff.
About 15 companies displaying a wide range of agricultural produce and locally packaged food items were present.
Some of the companies were Nyonkdo Farmers Association, Mazia Co. Enterprise, Jana Psalms Enterprise, and Queen Stars Food.
