Outgoing US Ambassador to Ghana, Stephanie Sullivan, has said that the introduction of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) will position Ghana for more economic gains within the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
According to her, Ghana should capitalise on the new economic synergies and opportunities to expand its economy.
Speaking at the 2021 American Chamber of Commerce Ghana Thanksgiving Dinner and Awards Night on the theme “Celebrating U.S-Ghana Partnership; Unlocking New Opportunities for Growth”, Mrs. Sullivan said AfCFTA will provide many opportunities for women entrepreneurs.

“With the establishment of the African Continental Free Trade Area based here in Accra, I believe Ghana is fully poised to capitalise on the newly economic synergies and opportunities for growth. AfCFTA brings so many opportunities to the continent", she said.
"I believe the AfCFTA will surely lead to exciting new opportunities for women entrepreneurs and business women”, she added.

The American Chamber of Commerce founded in 1989 is a voluntary association of professionals and business people, working to create an environment where business can thrive between Ghanaian and American communities.
