Musician Wendy Shay has said Ghana will receive a Grammy award this year.
In a tweet, the afrobeat singer born, Wendy Asiamah Addo, indicated that she will be the artiste to bring the award into the country.
"2022 is the year of Grammys. I’m bringing it to the motherland. Watch me!" she stated.

I’m bringing it to the motherland
Watch me !
While some users were pleased with the singer's determination, others were of the view that such an assurance won't come to fruition.
They argued that in 2021, the "Break your waist" hitmaker pledged to attain such feat, however, was unable to. Hence, they cannot rely on her words.
you said same thing 2021 ma’am pic.twitter.com/ynKMY1jeGs

The issue of Ghanaian artistes winning Grammy awards has been on the minds of many. This is because their counterparts in Nigeria are currently booking most of the slots available.
For Ghana, Rocky Dawuni, Killbeatz, FuseODG are the few artistes who have won or received nominations.
Rocky Dawuni was in contention for the Best Global Music Album award at the 64th Grammy Awards with his Voice of BunBon, Vol. 1 album. He faced opposition from Daniel Ho & Friends, Angelique Kidjo, Femi Kuti, and Wizkid.
In 2020, Burna Boy's "African Giant" was nominated for Best World Music Album award. The year after, his "Twice as tall" album won the Best World Music Album Award.
In 2021, Wizkid with "Brown Skin Girl" by Beyonce, Saint Jhn featuring Blue Ivy Carter won Best Music Video.
Wizkid's "Made in Lagos Deluxe Edition" is currently pending at the Best Global Music Album category. So is his "Essence" featuring Tems at the Best Global Music Performance category.
Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie, on the matter has stated that winning a Grammy award will be of great joy to him and his fans.
Meanwhile, the 64th annual Grammy Awards Show due to be held in the US later this month has been postponed due to coronavirus, organisers have said.
