For more than five years, Ghana Reads has demonstrated a strong interest in education.
They have embarked on several literacy programmes that employ creative ways to inculcate the culture of reading in our youth and children.
As part of its interest and commitment to promoting quality education in Ghana, Ghana Reads has decided to produce a quarterly newspaper with the title, “Educational Times” which is entirely focused on matters in education.
The launch of the newspaper took place at the Ghana International Press Center on September 15, 2022.
The current National Director, Miss Sandra O. Yeboah, in her address at the event encouraged all stakeholders of education including students and teachers to add their voices and share their stories, through letters to the editor. She also made a call on all publishing houses in Ghana to support this course through sponsorship.
The spotlight in the maiden edition of this newspaper was Prof. Jophus Anamuah-Mensah, previous Vice Chancellor of University of Winneba and one of the prominent people steer wheeling Ghana’s Education System.
The programme was chaired by Nana Kwaku Dei (Mr. Ransford Tetteh), Nkosuohene of Prako; the Guest Speaker was Mr. Albert Dwoumfour, president of GJA and the Guest of Honour for the program was the Deputy Minister of Education, Hon. Rev John Ntim Fordjour.
The first edition of the newspaper was fully sponsored by Adwinsa Publications (Gh) Ltd. and was distributed freely to all who attended.
