An aspiring National Organiser for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Henry Osei Akoto says the party requires a complete re-branding.
In an interview with Roselyn Felli on Prime Morning Thursday, Mr Akoto said that, "The NDC needs serious total transformation, and that serious total transformation is through re-branding."
He believes the number of people attracted to the party is on the decline as a result of poor marketing and communication.
"If we can rebrand the party, market it well, speak to the people, get the party to be very attractive … you wouldn’t have to even walk around and be talking. They will just come," the National Organiser hopeful said.
According to him, the first function of the National Organiser is to champion membership drive, a competence he believes, sets him apart from his contenders.
He stated, "I’m an event organiser, I’m a salesman, I’m a marketer, when it comes to speaking to people and making sure that the membership drive goes up, nobody can do it better than me. I know how to do it."
Mr. Akoto further explained that politics is a big institution that it will fail without numbers.
"…And so, from what I’ve done in the past, as a marketer, as a salesman, I should be able to market the party and get people in. That is my core mandate," he assured.
The National Democratic Congress goes to the polls this weekend, December 17, 2022, to elect national executives.
